About Us

about

Jamie's Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine and Sports Medicine is owned and operated by Jamie Young, who has greater than 23 years history of treating patients in this region. Mr. Young chose to open his own clinic in order to allow him to provide treatment to patients in the personal and professional manner that they deserve. This clinic was opened at this location because of the overwhelming kindness displayed by the people of this community. We are committed to providing the highest quality of care to ensure the most favorable outcomes. We believe that every patient is unique and that they deserve individualized treatment. Each patient will undergo an extensive consultation to determine the best course of rehabilitative action for each patient. We work closely with the patient's physician so that treatment plans for each patient are designed to increase the speed of the recovery process and allow for a quick return to functional activities

about

We are a full service physical therapy private practice that is 100% physical therapy owned. We are the only clinic in this area that has the owner present and working in the clinic. We put our name and reputation on the line without hiding behind a faceless company. We know the value of manual therapy and believe that most patients should receive this treatment on every visit. In addition to the traditional treatments of ultrasound, electrical stimulation, moist heat, stretching and therapeutic exercise, our patients have responded well to mechanical traction, joint mobilization, vaso-pnuenmatic compression and Kinesio Taping. Jamie's Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine also has a Biodex machine which offers a long list of features including balance training (such as range of motion and weight shift exercises), tests that can indicate fall candidates, and athlete knee injury screening. Patients are extremely pleased with our state of the art Alter G treadmill. This treadmill allows the patient to reduce their body weight by or to 80%. This allows the patient to ambulate without pain, limping or fear of falling - all of which leads to a faster recovery. We are also very excited to be the first PT facility in Pennsylvania to use the Biomech sensor system. These sensors gather real-time motion and balance data at a speed of hundreds of times per second. This will dramatically improve a patient's mobility, balance and safety. This is one tool that we are using to provide treatment for patients with balancing gait deficits. Our patients typically are seen for a 90 minute treatment in order to provide each patient with the individualized treatment required to optimize recovery.
